Initializing NFT
After acquiring a NFT you can optionally initilize it by storing the image data directly on the blockchain (You can still transfer and even sell the NFT without initializing it). This can be done at any time and is not required to be done immediately e.g. you can wait for low gas prices. You can view it before this on for example Opensea.
Metamask Required
You need a browser with Metamask (https://metamask.io/download.html) installed. After this you need to click on "Connect Metamask" to access all Metamask features.
